3.jpgThe University’s determination to minimize its environmental impact on future generations extends beyond its environmentally friendly waste disposal program to an interdisciplinary project, whereby the University’s waste materials are recycled for a noble purpose. The interdisciplinary project is a relationship between different stakeholders all for the purpose of enhancing the life of villagers through maintaining a self-sufficient independent living. The project employed the well-advanced visualization technique 5D to plan and construct a real-time simulation of an environmentally friendly village on the outskirts of the traditional city of Makkah. The University’s recyclable waste is recycled then used in building houses in this rural village-Al-Bayda. A house built of Effat’s recycled waste now stands in Al-Bayda paving the way for more successful examples of efficient and environmentally friendly waste management.
