About

The CCR, located above the basketball court, is one of the Enhancement Centers. We promote assertiveness and self-confidence in speaking, and teach students how to express their opinions clearly and persuasively. Oral presentation skills are refined, and public speaking abilities developed. Interpersonal communication skills are enhanced, and debating techniques analyzed.

Services

The CCR offers a series of workshops open to all students every semester, plus specific workshops for specific classes upon request, as well as individual help and advice on all aspects of speaking and writing.
The CCR always welcomes ideas and suggestions from students, faculty and staff on ways in which we can further help the Effat community.
Students are encouraged to regularly visit the CCR and utilize its services, particularly when they need to do any of the following:

• Understand assignments, and write reports, assignments, or term papers.
• Make audio or video tapes, or watch educational programs.
• Make and practice effective presentations.

Toastmasters

Effat Toastmasters, an official chapter of Toastmasters International, Inc., was started in November, 2009 with 30 members. Toastmasters International is a recognized communication and leadership program that helps students learn communication skills by practicing and leadership skills through organizing and conducting club meetings. Meetings are held every other Sunday from 4:15-5:45 pm.
