the common registration violations during the registration period. This will provide you with
an opportunity to know and avoid them so that some of your courses are not dropped.
Below we summarize some of the registration violations and the action taken by the
Admissions and Registration Office.
Violation # 1:
Students who do not confirm their registration with their Advisor during the week of
Advising or during Registration (before the semester begins)
Action Taken by the Admissions and Registrations Office:
If a student registers without visiting the Advisor, the courses will be dropped on September
2, 2009.
Violation # 2:
Student who do not pay their first installment (first fee),
Action Taken by the Admissions and Registrations Office:
Late registration fee will be charged from the students up to the last day for late registration.
(It is the student's responsibility to check her
email regarding confirmation status).
Violation # 3:
Student wants to register after the last day of late registration.
Action Taken by the Admissions and Registrations Office:
Student will not be registered for the semester.
Violation # 4:
Student repeating courses in which they have previously obtained "C" or a better
grade
Action Taken by the Admissions and Registrations Office:
Course will be dropped after the last day of adding courses.
Violation # 5:
Students NOT on Good Standing status exceeding 15 credits for Warning Status and 13
credits for Probation Status.
Action Taken by the Admissions and Registrations Office:
Higher number courses will be dropped until maximum load is reached after the last day for
adding courses.
Violation # 6:
Undergraduate students registered less than 12 credit hours in a regular semester-under-
load. (Student expected to graduate in that particular term and is left with less than 12 credit
hours to complete graduation requirements are excluded from this rule)
Action Taken by the Admissions and Registrations Office:
All courses will be dropped after the last day for adding courses.
Violation # 7:
Student registered in "Waitlist" sections (Good standing students only)
Action Taken by the Admissions and Registrations Office
Good standing students will be added to the course, if possible. (It is the student's
responsibility to check his schedule regarding the waitlist courses)
Violation # 8:
Student requests to drop / withdraw course through the web after the last day of adding
courses.
Action Taken by the Admissions and Registrations Office:
Courses will not be dropped / withdrawn if the request does not satisfy the requirement. (It
is the student's responsibility to check his email/schedule regarding the drop/withdrawal
request)
Violation # 9:
Student requests to drop all courses.
Action Taken by the Admissions and Registrations Office:
Courses will not be dropped until completed clearance form is submitted.
Violation # 10:
Student registers a course having specific restriction (Class level / Major / College etc.)
Action Taken by the Admissions and Registrations Office:
Student will continue in the course once an override has been approved by the Department
Chair, Vice Dean for Academics and submitted to the Admissions and Registration Office.
Violation # 11:
Registering in courses outside the degree plan (Out-of-major courses)
Action Taken by the Admissions and Registrations Office:
All out-of-major courses will need prior approval from the advisor and may be dropped if it
is not approved after last day for adding courses.
Violation # 12:
Undergraduate students who have completed more than 8 regular terms and have still not
graduated.
Action Taken by the Admissions and Registrations Office:
Student will continue in the course unless otherwise instructed by the University
Council.
Important Notes:
- Student is fully responsible for all his registration actions and should ensure that his
registration is not in violation of any of the above.
- Action will also be taken for some of the above registration violations after the early
registration week as well during registration week.
