Call for Papers

​​​The Student Research Forum is an Effat conference, organized by the Research and Consultancy Institute (RCI) in cooperation with Student Affairs, Student Life and Effat Library.

This conference serves as a multi-disciplinary forum for the discussion and exchange of information on the research and development projects undertaken by students from Effat University. We invite you to submit proposals for papers, posters/ demonstrations, showcases, and demos. Each proposal will be reviewed for inclusion in the conference program, Effat Undergraduate Research Journal. Selected research work will be nominated to Minister of Education Annual Student Research Forum.

Topics: The student research event is a multi-disciplinary event and open to students from all undergraduate and graduate programs in e.g., Humanities, Engineering, Sciences, Life Sciences, Arts, Business, Management, Finance, Psychology, Literature, Islamic Studies, and Architecture.

PRESENTATION CATEGORIES

The Program includes a wide range of interesting and useful activities designed to facilitate the exchange of ideas and information.

  • Student Papers:

Students can present their completed research projects to the community. Each accepted paper will be allotted a total of 20 minutes; it is expected that all papers will be delivered in approximately 15 minutes. Since the organizers intend to publish conference papers, participants will be asked to send the digital version of a paper within one month after the conference.

  • Student Posters/Demonstrations:

Completed or current research projects can be presented in the poster sessions during extended coffee and lunch breaks.

  • Project Showcases & Demonstrations:

Showcases and demonstrations of designs or prototype products can be presented during extended coffee and lunch breaks.

  • SUBMISSION DETAILS

We cordially invite undergraduate and graduate students to submit proposals (title and brief synopsis of max 100 words, with author's details in a Word e-mail attachment) on the 25th January 2018 4:00.PM to: RCI@effatuniversity.edu.sa  

All proposals must be written and presented in English except for Arabic Language related research.

A decision on posters or papers accepted for presentation will be made by 28th January 2018

PROCEEDINGS

Accepted papers will be published in Effat Undergraduate Research Journal (EURJ).

Please note that reviewers may reject submissions if the written product shows exceedingly poor grammar or structure. For this reason, all papers and presentations—especially those written by non-native English speakers—should be proofread or copyedited prior to submission.

AWARDS

The Program Committee will consider all presented papers for Outstanding Paper Awards. There will also be an award for Outstanding Poster and Outstanding Demo.
