In collaboration with Gulf International Bank, Effat
University offers the Women in Technology Program is designed for the purpose
of empowering Saudi women and improving their employability skills through
computer literacy and professional development training.
The 10-week program consists of two main sections:
Program Duration
The total duration of the program is 100 hours distributed
among 10 weeks of instruction as follows:
Fundamentals of Computer Applications |
7 weeks – 70 hours |
Basic Work Skills | 3 weeks – 30 hours |
Program Learning Outcomes
By completing the program, students will be to:
Use a computer and
software to accomplish tasks such as writing documents, creating
spreadsheets and basic databases.
Utilize email as a form of
communication by creating email addresses, sending/receiving emails,
attach files to messages, conduct basic Internet search, etc.
Understand the basics of
web design using HTML, creating simple web pages, and using different multimedia
forms.
Demonstrate ability to
communicate effectively in work environments as well as master other
work-related skills such as task management, problem solving, leadership,
etc.
Indicate readiness to join
the job market through enhancing their skills in: job searching, resume
writing and interviews.
