It gives us great pleasure to announce the 1st International Symposium on Positive Psychology (ISPP), which will be held on March 29, 2018 at Effat University, Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Organized by Effat University, the International Symposium in Positive Psychology (ISPP) is a biennial event that aims to showcase recent research developments underpinning best practices and innovations in the field of Psychology.
Our intention is to make the ISPP become an important event at the national and international level. In addition to attracting leading educators and students, the Symposium will also bring together various leaders, experts, policy-makers and government officials from within, as well as from outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- To promote the scientific understanding and implementation of
positive psychology through various evidence-based methodologies.
- To encourage the youth to embrace
positive psychology in their lives.
- To understand the relationship
between Islamic values and psychology.
- To promote positive psychology research in the Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia, the gulf region, and the Middle East-North Africa.
The Effat University Psychology
Symposium on Positive Psychology will provide a unique platform for the
scientific and outside community to engage in an all-day event to learn about
well-being, mindfulness, youth engagement, and Islamic influences on positive
psychology, among many other timely and intriguing topics. The symposium will
provide various opportunities for networking, as well as keynote speeches,
panel discussions, workshops, and exhibitions. The symposium will also provide a
unique opportunity to be assessed through positive psychology measures followed
by a short coaching session with feedback on improving one’s sense of wellbeing.
This is the first Positive
Psychology symposium of its kind in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The intention
behind the symposium is to spread the knowledge of enhancing human strengths
and increasing optimal human functioning in all domains of life. All
participants are welcome, from students, faculty, and staff, to anyone in the
outside community who has an interest in learning and improving themselves.
