Effat University hosting 1st International Symposium on Positive Psychology for a Vibrant Society
Biennial event showcases best practices and innovations in psychology
JEDDAH, March 2018: Effat University is organizing a Symposium on Positive Psychology (ISPP), which will be hosted at the university in Jeddah on 28-29, March 2018, under the patronage of HRH Princess Lolowah Al-Faisal.
The symposium is the first edition of a biennial event that aims to showcase recent research developments underpinning best practices and innovations in the field of psychology. The event will also include bilingual workshops.
“Our intention is to make the ISPP become an important event at the national and international level," said Dr. Haifa Jamal Al-Lail, President of Effat University. “The symposium will facilitate collaboration among researchers, teachers, students and practitioners of positive psychology from around the world and across academic disciplines, who will share the findings of positive psychology with the broadest possible audience."
Keynote speakers include Dr. David Creswell Associate Professor in Psychology Carnegie Mellon University and the Director of Health and Human Performance Research Lab at CMU, and Dr. Louise Lambert, Assicoate Professoor of Psychology, Canadian University Dubai, United Arab Emirates and the Chief Editor of Middle East Journal of Positive Psychology.
Topics range from well-being, public health, mental health and sports psychology, to optimism, resilience, positive coping, stress management and love, humor, justice, and peace, among many others.
