Effat University and Gulf International Bank Provide 15 Saudi Women with Professional Skills
Jeddah 2018: Under the patronage and presence of HRH Princess Lolowah AlFaisal, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees and General Supervisor of Effat University, Effat University concluded Effat’s Sports Challenge, under the title “Fight Until the End”, and crowning a few young ladies from Jeddah schools on December 2, 2018, in Effat Library & Cultural Museum. This event comes under the university’s efforts to support & empower community’s ladies, and help them enter sports in their lives and encourage them to learn athletic ethics.
Sports competitions included three types: 100-meter relay, basketball and swimming. And the winners were crowned, and they are: Jana Al Jawad & Renad Mohammed from Global International School for the 100-meter relay category, AlHamra School for the basketball category, and Farida Ahmed for the swimming category.
The university also hosted swimmer Mariam Bin Ladin, who has several swimming achievements as the first Saudi woman to cut the 101-mile long Thames River in London, and she is also the first Saudi woman to cross the 21-mile English Channel, which ended in 10 hours.
The event was presented by Ms. Lina Khalid Al Maena who is a member of the Shura Council and a founder and executive partner of Jeddah United Sports Company (Jeddah United).
At the end of the ceremony, the university thanked the participating schools annually in this sport event. These participations show the importance of sport and its impact on the students' life. These schools are: Al-Hamraa School, Al-Falak International School, Global International School, Al Nobala School, and Jeddah Private School.
