Sanna Dhahir is an Associate Professor and Dean of the College of Science and Humanities at Effat University. She holds an MA and a PhD in English literature from Exeter University, England, and the University of New Brunswick, Canada, respectively. Before joining Effat University in 2002, Dr Dhahir had worked for 11 years at the University of New Brunswick, where she taught varied courses in literature and composition. Her research interests lie mainly in postcolonial and Arabic literature, and she has presented and published in both fields. She is also a literary translator and her latest translation into English, a novel by Badriah Albeshr, has been published as Hend and the Soldiers (2017) by the Center for Middle Eastern Studies, University of Texas Press. Dr Dhahir is a member of many international organizations, and has acted as reviewer for a number of journals and publishing houses, such as The International Journal of Middle Eastern Studies (IJMES), Women’s Studies International Forum, I.B. Tauris & Co Ltd., and Living Languages (a Random House Company).
