Effat University – Jeddah – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (August 2021-present)

• Chair of the Department of English and Translation
• Director of the MA program in Translation and Interpreting

• Member of the Graduate Studies Council
• Supervising MA students and teaching graduate and undergraduate courses: Research Methodology in Translation Studies, English-Arabic Translation, Arabic Grammar and Syntax, Translating for International Organizations.
• Providing effective teaching and learning, developing Community courses, evolving the role of research and strengthening the Accreditation system.

Holy Spirit University of Kaslik – Lebanon (1999-July 2021)

Associate Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and Associate Dean of the Doctoral College for Human and Social Sciences.
Key responsibilities:
• Managing a team of 55+ people: Assistant Deans, Director of the Language Center, Heads of Departments/Programs, Language coordinators, Faculty and Staff.
• Directing BA, Master and PhD programs: developing curricula in alignment with the market demands.
• Spearheading recruitment campaigns, events and conferences that contribute to the promotion of the university on both national and international levels.
• Overseeing all academic procedures from advising/registration through graduation.
• Implementing international language certificates (Cambridge CAE, DELF/DALF, DELE, CILS) and coordinating with embassies and cultural institutes.
• Building grants and scholarship programs and leading execution.
• Analyzing courses’ prerequisites, audit and graduation requirements.
• Processing workflows and operating procedures.
• Supervising MA thesis and PhD dissertations.
• Delivering undergraduate and graduate courses: Editorial Translation, Intercultural Communication, Translation Theory and Methodology, Copywriting, Literary and Cultural Translation, Media Translation, Medical Translation, and Current Cultural Issues (English, Arabic & French).

My previous roles in the organization were:

• Head of the Department of Languages, Translation and Literatures (2019-2020)
• Director of the Language Center (2014-2019)
• Associate Dean of the Faculty of Letters (2007-2011)
• Director of USEK Continuous Learning Center (2015-2017)
• Responsible for the French Language Assessment: Executive MBA, HEC-Montreal and USEK Business School (2006)

Additional roles and responsibilities across my career:

• Expert and Evaluator at the Lebanese Ministry of Higher Education: evaluation of applications presented by universities for the creation of new departments/programs (2018)
• Expert and Evaluator: Pluricité, Evaluation Company in Higher Education assigned by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs to assess a ten-year funding project (FSP, €3.5M) allocated to the Lebanese University (2013)
• Jury member at the Lebanese Civil Service Council for the recruitment of translators in the Public Administration (2012)
• Responsible for translating, copywriting and editing documents & websites from English into French and Arabic for advertising agencies in Lebanon, France & Middle East (2000 – present): handled documents (articles, press reports, speeches, and other promotional and/or informative material) delivery services to France Telecom- Cellis, University of Caen, ESCWA, UNESCO.
• Interpreter for the Long-Term Observers of the European Union during the Lebanese Parliamentary Elections (2005)
• Part-time translation instructor in different universities in Lebanon and France: Lebanese University (2000-2005), NDU (2000-2003, 2011-2017), Islamic University (2001-2006), USEK (1999-2021), Caen University-France (2001).​
