 About the Program

Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management program provides an in-depth study of the major concepts and tools in the theory and application of ‎modern Supply Chain Management techniques. Students will acquire knowledge and skills covering a range of Strategic Operations Management functions including Operations Management, System Implementation, Supply Chain Management, and e-Businesses. Emphasis ‎will be placed on issues unique to the Middle East.  As well, the impact of globalization and information technology on the Supply Chain ‎Management field will be addressed.

At the early years of your academic journey, you will take General Education Program (GEP), attributed to the Liberal Arts – an American style education. The (GEP) covers arts and humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and technological studies to help you gain insight into varied critical learning skills, investigate essential branches of knowledge, and develop appreciation of diversity and change across time, culture, and national boundaries.​

The Supply Chain Management program successfully acquired AACSB accreditation in Fall 2021 for a period of five years.


Educational Objectives

Providing an in-depth study of the major concepts and tools in the theory and application of ‎modern Supply Chain Management techniques, the curriculum is designed to cover a range of strategic supply chain functions to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the key terms, theories, practices, and latest trends in the field of SCM.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills in the field of SCM.
  • Provide innovative solutions to problems in the field of SCM.
  • Demonstrate ability to conduct research in the field of SCM.
  • Demonstrate the understanding of ethical issues in SCM.

The program will lead Operation and Supply Chain Management education through global standards, innovation, research, and society engagement to foster the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia vision 2030.

Mission

To graduate Operation and Supply Chain Management world class proficient leaders through data-driven learning experience, practice, and research to contribute to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia economic and community needs and challenges.

Goals

  1. To lead and position SCM program to be recognized nationally and internationally as a reference in the field of SCM education that nurtures highly qualified leaders.
  2. Encourage a positive learning environment that promotes integrity and team spirit through effective and inspiring leadership and adherence to quality.
  3. To provide an innovative, distinctive, and high-quality education, which inspires the student's enthusiasm for learning and to launch new academic programs in SCM while sustaining the academic excellence.
  4. To attract and maintain excellent and diverse students and provide exceptional experience to prepare them as ambassadors for life.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of a wide range of concepts, models, frameworks, and tools for understanding functions and strategies in the field of Operations and Supply Chain Management.

Skills:

  • Practice and implement basic techniques to investigate and analyze a specific project in the field of Operations and Supply Chain Management.
  • Critically identify, analyze, and provide solutions for in the operations and supply chain management problems and opportunities related to all business strategies.
  • Critically analyze operations and supply chain management related problems, using quantitative or qualitative methods and tools, and recommend solutions.
  • Analyze the interplay of key business areas to manage effectively in different organizations.
