Effat University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – September 5, 2024: The torch for the third edition of the Saudi Games 2024 arrived at Effat University on Thursday, as part of its promotional tour for the Kingdom’s largest national sports event.

In a festive and engaging atmosphere, Her Royal Highness Princess Lolowah Al-Faisal, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees and General Supervisor of Effat University, received the torch. The ceremonial handover was performed by Paralympic athlete Saeed Al-Hosawi, known for his impressive achievements, including the bronze medal at the West Asia Championship 2022, gold at the Saudi Games 2022, and silver at the Saudi Games 2023. The torch was then carried by Danya Sembawi, who has an impressive medal haul: five medals at the Asia Track Cup, three at the Arab Road Championships, ten at the Arab Track Championships, and two at the Gulf Olympics. She is also a two-time national champion in individual races.
The Saudi Games torch's journey represents the core values of unity and excellence, embodying enthusiasm and national pride. The special event at Effat University underscores the growing excitement as Saudi Arabia prepares for this major sporting event.
