Our Philosophy

The Project focuses on adapting the traditional techniques of dealing with the environment in our region, adapting the integrative design process for buildings to address improvements to the baseline technology, and employing building green rating systems in the process of design.

SDME 2020 Tmam project aims to:

  • Reduce construction time and maintenance issues and employ revolutionary and innovative building materials that will enhance the thermal performance of residential housing.
  • Ensure savings in materials and electricity costs, reduce the use of fossil fuels and emission of ozone-depleting gases, and using Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) systems as an architectural feature integrated into the building envelope.
  • Maximize the benefits of daylight with the proper placement of windows, skylights, light shafts, atriums, and translucent panels in harmony with other building components complemented by energy-efficient fixtures for artificial lighting that save energy while having long life expectancy.
  • Provide yearlong thermal comfort with a highly energy-efficient and cost-saving heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems (HVAC) - using simulation software - and to employ a green cooling system that falls under two distinct categories: passive and active.
  • Evaluate cutting edge technologies of smart home systems, and how they can enhance comfort, safety, and efficiency within the building. Employing Smart Home as a Service enables consumers to practice sustainability and ensures a cleaner future by enforcing control over the way resources are used in homes.
  • Design and implement a smart solar-powered water treatment system to provide purified water and minimize waste from commercial bottled water.
