Sena Maherzi is an Assistant Professor at Effat University. She holds an MA in in translation (English to French and vice versa), from the University of Tunis (Tunisia), an MA in second language education from the University of Montreal (Canada) and a PhD in second language education from the University of Montreal (Canada).Before joining Effat University in 2004, Dr. Maherzi had worked for 3 years at King Saud University (Riyadh, KSA) and Prince Sultan University (Riyadh, KSA), where she taught varied courses in English (reading, writing, Listening & Speaking, and grammar). At Effat University, Dr. Maherzi taught in the English and Translation department (Reading non-fiction prose, conversation courses, and structure and function of the English language). She is currently teaching English courses in the Effat Englsih Academy and the General education department at Effat.Dr. Maherzi's research interests lie mainly in second/foreign language teaching and learning and on the relationship between motivation to study English as a foreign language and the teacher's communicative style. She has presented and published in the second field. She is also a French translator and she is currently translating, 'Iffat Al-Thunayan - an Arabian Queen, a book written by A.J. Kechichian on Queen Effat (May God Rest her Soul) Dr. Maherzi is a member of the IDB screening committee since 2015.
