Effat University Council is a key internal governing body responsible for overseeing the administrative, academic, educational, and research affairs of the University. Chaired by the University President, the Council is composed of the Provost as Vice-Chair, Academic Deans, Deans of Supportive Deanships, Directors of Institutes, and three faculty members who represent the voice of the faculty.
A student representative is regularly invited to attend the monthly meetings of the University Council to present the students' perspective. A Secretary General is nominated annually by the Council members and is supported by two Council assistants.
The President manages the institution through the University Council to advance the University's strategic goals and fulfill its mission. The functions of the University Council, as well as the authorities and responsibilities of the President, are defined in the University Charter.
