Academic Acceleration Pioneers Program for outstanding and creative high school students
Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has recently witnessed a comprehensive development, and the Kingdom’s directives and ambitious vision had the greatest impact in bringing about a qualitative shift in education at all its stages, especially higher education, as the number of Saudi universities has increased significantly and the focus has become on aligning the learning outcomes of the programs offered by these universities with the specializations of the local and international labor market. Vision 2030 played a prominent role in this qualitative shift, as education was included under (a thriving economy), which is one of the axes of this vision that provides everyone with multiple opportunities for success, by providing a supportive work environment for small, medium and large companies, and investing in education in preparation for future jobs, to provide a prosperous future for everyone in the Kingdom. In line with the university's mission to “prepare ambitious and distinguished leaders”, the “Ruwwad Academic Acceleration Program” was developed at Effat University to attract outstanding and talented high school students based on international principles and standards of excellence in accordance with Articles 48 and 49 of the Study and Examination Regulations for the University Stage and its Executive Rules at Effat University.
The “ Ruwwad Academic Acceleration Program” aims to recognize and sponsor distinguished and outstanding secondary school students and give them the opportunity to accelerate their academic progress in higher education by exempting them from some preparatory year or first year courses and placing them in advanced levels. According to international standards, to enhance the university’s role in keeping pace with the development process and contributing effectively to support the achievement of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
Program objectives
- Attracting outstanding and talented students to join Effat University.
- Upgrading the skills of gifted students and refining their talents to raise their academic efficiency and direct them to increase their competitiveness in the labor market.
- Achieving spending efficiency and reducing the number of years of study for academically superior students.
- Raising the efficiency of educational outcomes and enhancing the university’s local and international reputation.
- Enhancing the university’s participation in local and international competitions and forums.
Program tracks:
The “Academic Acceleration Pioneers Program” at Effat University, which attracts outstanding and creative high school students or graduates, includes two tracks: the dual enrollment track and the Advanced Placement Track:
Track One: Dual Enrollment
The dual enrollment program aims to provide an opportunity for academically outstanding second-year and third-year secondary school students to study some university courses simultaneously with their secondary school studies upon achieving specific criteria, with those courses being counted as credited academic units for the student, if they enroll in the university within a specific period of time according to the approved controls and mechanism; in order for the university to provide students with distinguished qualitative experiences and accelerate them academically.

Track Two: Advanced Placement
This track aims to attract outstanding high school graduates by placing them directly in the colleges they desire without enrolling in the first university year, and exempting them from the first year university courses. This track is currently available to male and female students wishing to enroll in one of Effat University’s colleges. This path includes several categories, as follows:

First Method: Passing The English Language Level Courses in The Preparatory Year
This program is designed for high school students accepted into Effat University through direct admission to the desired specializations without enrolling in the preparatory year according to the approved regulations for that. Students are accepted after passing the English language levels directly in the specializations they wish to enroll in.

Second Method: Passing General Education Courses
This program is designed for students accepted into Effat University programs, and aims to exempt students from studying some university requirements of the general education program upon successfully passing specialized academic achievement tests, or proficiency tests (in languages).

Third Method: Passing The Specialized Courses in The University Programs
This program is designed for students accepted into Effat University programs, and aims to exempt students from studying some courses in the desired major upon successfully passing the specialized academic achievement tests.

Fourth Method: Professional Certificate Equivalency
This program is designed for students accepted into Effat University programs. It aims to exempt students from studying some courses in the specialization they wish to join upon submitting accredited professional certificates according to the approved regulations for that.
