The 4th IET GCC Robotics Challenge

Welcome to the 4th IET GCC Robotics Challenge. It is with great pleasure that we announce the launching of the 4th joint IET GCC robotics competition. This competition is an outstanding vehicle to promote and demonstrate state-of-the-art technologies in robotics and their applications. The competition is open for young students and engineers. Local rounds will be held in each GCC country and the final round will take place in one of the GCC states. In addition to the robotics challenge this will present an opportunity to gather all experts and young engineers to an open interaction event to discuss and promote recent advances in robotics. Robotics Competitions are the most attractive competitions for students to participate. It has students can accomplish and develop many skills during competing such as creativity, engineering, mathematics, leadership, management, team working and programming skills.

The GCC Robotics Competition aims to encourage undergraduate students and young professionals across the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) to build an innovative robust robot and compete in a pre-designed arena with space and time constraints, utilizing their academic knowledge and technical skills. The competition will focus on technical feasibility, efficiency, and innovation of the proposed solution, as well as on testing the creativity of the participants.

The nations of The GCC are playing a significant roles iby showing a large technical hub where software and hardware companies show case their latest products to be absorbed into manufacturing service sectors as well as civic life. The competition arena is built to represent the famous landmarks of the six countries and current events.

Local Rounds and Details

The challenge consists of 6 rounds. Each round is inspired by a GCC country. All participants need to go through all rounds sequentially where they will receive scores for each round. Teams will be allowed to use the competition arena for 2 hours in order to practice and tweak their robots, and will be allowed to reconfigure their robots between rounds. The winning team from each country will receive a trip to a GCC state (for 2019, UAE -Dubai), to participate in the final round in addition to a monetary Cup and a Certificates.
