Effat English Placement Test: Linguaskill General Test
Linguaskill General Test or (Linguaskill) is a multi-level test provided by Cambridge Assessment English (UK). It is used by Effat Univrsity as the main English Placement Test to check the English language skills of its applicants/ students.
Reasons to take the Linguaskill Test
- If you are applying to Effat University, you will have to undergo the Linguaskill Test
- The test will provide you with accurate results within 48 hours
- Your results will be aligned to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), the international standard for describing language ability
- If you are interested in taking the IELTS test, Linguaskill will accurately identify your comparative IELTS score
Important Note
- Applicants can waive the Linguaskill Test if they have a valid iBT or IELTS score.
- Applicants should submit the iBT or IELTS Score Report to the Admissions Office.
Linguaskill Test consists of 4 parts:
Reading and Listening
The Reading and Listening test is adaptive. There is no fixed number of questions. Each question the candidates answer helps the computer understand their level better. The test ends when the candidate has answered enough questions for Linguaskill to identify their level accurately.
Writing
The Writing tests consists of two tasks. It is 45 minutes in length. Task one: Candidates are asked to write an email of about 50 words. Task two: Candidates are asked to write a letter or a report of at least 180 words.
Speaking
The Speaking test is made up of 5 parts. Candidates use the microphone and headphone to record their answers. It is 15 minutes in length.

- Linguaskill Score Report will be emailed within 24hr to applicant's email address provided
