Overview​

The Department of Clinical Psychology (PSY) in the College of Humanities at Effat University offers a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology​. This program is licensed by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties​.​

The MSc Clinical Psychology Program provides students with a research-led and practice-based education in the specialized field of clinical psychology. The Program integrates rigorous on-campus coursework and off-campus internships to train students in clinical assessment, case conceptualization, and evidence-based models of psychotherapy applicable to individuals, couples, families, and groups.

The Master of Science in Clinical Psychology (MSCP) in alliance with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s vision 2030 will meet the rising need of mental health professionals in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere.

One of the program’s unique features is the inclusion of extensive practical training in clinical and psychological settings across the Kingdom, providing students with hands-on experience within the domain of clinical psychology. This is complemented by comprehensive on-campus coursework delivered by experienced faculty members, ensuring that students gain both in-depth theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for a successful career in clinical psychology. 

The program equips students with contemporary skills and knowledge in the field of clinical psychology, including the application of advanced technologies in research, assessment, and Therapy.​

Program Mission

The Master of Science in Clinical Psychology program at Effat University aims to educate and train the next generation of clinical psychologists who are committed to excellence in research and evidence-based clinical practice. Our graduates receive scientific psychological knowledge and rigorous training to treat mental health issues and promote psychological health and well-being in diverse settings.​

1. Ensure the MSCP Program's achievement of its mission through quality education, research, and contribution to national and international communities.
2. Provide a work environment conducive to productivity and innovative scholarship through effective leadership and seek national and international accreditation.
3. Assure academic excellence by providing an innovative, distinctive, and high-quality education in the specialized field of Clinical Psychology and provide the necessary resources.
4. Attract and retain students who will graduate as highly skilled, responsible, ethical and compassionate professional clinical psychologists to carry on the legacy of Queen Effat.  
5. Attract and retain trained and research oriented faculty and provide them with diverse professional development and research opportunities.
6. Provide faculty and students with state-of–the-art Psychological Assessment and teaching labs and other facilities to support practice-based teaching & learning.  
7. Cultivate a research environment to increase faculty and student research activities and output in alignment with the program research goals.
