Dr. Ekaterina A. Burina is a clinical psychologist with over fifteen years of teaching, counselling, and research experience. She currently serves as Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology at Effat University, Saudi Arabia. She earned her Specialist degree in Clinical Psychology, Postgraduate training in Medical Psychology, and PhD from Saint Petersburg State University, Russia, where her doctoral research focused on the prevention of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Throughout her career, Dr. Burina has combined academic excellence with clinical practice, working as a counselling psychologist, psychotherapist, supervisor, educator, and research coordinator on numerous national and international projects. Her research interests include maternal and reproductive mental health, fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, HIV prevention, psychological adaptation, trauma, and health psychology. Dr. Burina has authored 161 scientific publications, delivered 118 conference presentations, and participated in more than 100 scientific events worldwide, including conferences in Japan, Russia, and the United States. An active member of several professional organizations, including the American Psychological Association and Psi Chi, she also serves as a reviewer, editor, and scientific advisor for multiple international journals and professional societies. Her work is distinguished by a commitment to advancing psychological science, improving mental health outcomes, and fostering the development of future psychologists through teaching, mentorship, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
