We are pleased to invite your students to participate in the School Game Design Competition, held as part of the Learning and Technology Conference at Effat University on Tuesday, 14/04/2026. This competition brings together creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving!
🎮 Competition Overview
Participants will design and build a simple digital game using MakeCode Arcade https://arcade.makecode.com/ , a fun and beginner-friendly game development tool.
- Who can participate: High School students
- Team size: Up to 3 students per team
- Tool to be used: MakeCode Arcade https://arcade.makecode.com/
- Game type: Any original game (action, puzzle, educational, etc.)
🛠️ What Students Need to Do
- Form a team (or work individually)
- Design and build an original game using MakeCode Arcade
- Create a poster explaining the game and its story
- The poster must include a QR code linking to the game
- Ensure the game runs correctly and is easy to play
- Be ready to explain the game and how it works

Games will be judged based on:
- Creativity and originality
- Gameplay and user experience
- Use of MakeCode Arcade features
- Teamwork and presentation

Certificates and prizes will be awarded to the top teams, and all participants will receive a participation certificate.
