Overview

Marketing professionals make a valuable and significant contribution to the shaping of our cultural landscape. Our Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing aims to inspire future market leaders and equip them with superior technical skills and the current marketing knowledge needed to excel in their careers. This is achieved by exposing students to an in-depth study of the major concepts, frameworks and tools needed for the theory and practice of modern marketing, which will allow you to play a meaningful role in the marketing functions of the organisations you'll work for.  

The BSc Marketing Degree program will teach students the skills they need to thrive and become innovative and reactive individuals within a dynamic, fast-paced and ever-changing marketing landscape.

Curriculum​

The curriculum for this Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing at Effat University places particular emphasis on subjects related to the Middle East and covers a range of strategic marketing functions including customer relations, sales, advertising, pricing, e-commerce, marketing communications and new product development, along with the impact of globalisation and information technology on marketing.

We aim to develop your communication skills during your BSc Degree in Marketing to help you to flourish in your marketing career. You'll tackle all forms of business communication, from speaking, written materials and social media, whilst maintaining an ethical approach to marketing practice at all times.

You'll also learn how to conduct comprehensive market research, effectively analyse marketing data, and how you can use these skills to plan and build strong marketing campaigns across channels.

Vision

The vision of the Marketing Program is to be recognized nationally and internationally as a leading faculty in the field of Marketing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Mission

The mission of the Marketing Program is to create future leaders by equipping our graduates with a comprehensive foundation of Knowledge, Skills and Competencies in the field of Marketing through Learning and Teaching, Research and Community Service to compete in today’s dynamic marketplace.

Goals

  1. Position and promote the Marketing Program at the Effat College of Business (ECoB) to be recognized Nationally and Internationally as the best Marketing education provider in the Kingdom.
  2. Develop and maintain a positive and collaborative work environment to ensure efficiency and integrity resulting in improving productivity while maintaining the National accreditation for the program and helping the ECoB to gain International accreditation.
  3. Develop further partnerships with National and International universities in addition to current collaborations while sustaining the existing program and developing new programs as well as professional certifications in the field of Marketing.
  4. Attract, enroll and retain high quality students in the Marketing Program while grooming them to become future ambassadors by working on their holistic development (personal, academic and professional) and entrepreneurial skills.
  5. Establish a strong team of highly qualified International and Saudi faculty committed towards Personal, Professional and Institutional development.
  6. Offer students, faculty and staff updated state-of-the-art learning and information resources and services aimed towards quality research and academic excellence together with Continuously expanding and optimizing the usage of all facilities available to the department through the ECoB and EU infrastructure.
  7. Promote and support faculty and student research in line with National and Institutional priorities to increase annual research output along with maintaining and strengthening relationships with the National and International community of Professionals and Academics at large.

 Learning Outcomes

Knowledge:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of key concepts, term, practices in marketing.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of a wide range of concepts, models, frameworks, and tools for understanding marketing functions and strategies.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of management and marketing theories, analysis, and reporting in domestic, regional, and global economic environments of organizations.

Skills:

  • Critically identify, analyses and provide solutions for marketing problems and opportunities related to all marketing strategies.
  • Critically identify, analyses and provide solutions for business problems and opportunities related to business strategies.
  • Conduct research on marketing issues in general through the analysis of marketing related problems, using both quantitative or qualitative information and tools for the collection, creation and analysis of data from a range of sources.​

Competencies:

  • Learn independently as well as engage in life-long learning skills through teamwork by demonstrating project (technical or vocational) management skills.
  • Evaluate the validity and relevance of data for decision-making while solving various dynamic business problems.
  • Use professional and scholarly literature, research data and information resources to articulate their implications in the field of marketing while analyzing the interplay of key business areas to manage effectively in various organizations.
  • Show how managerial decision-support tools (IT) can be used to the advantage of businesses while analyzing, and reporting marketing / business information.
  • Demonstrate leadership capabilities as well as the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrate personal, professional, and ethical competencies while communicating business and marketing ideas effectively both orally and in writing.

 Career Opportunities

Students who graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing open themselves up to a vast range of opportunities either in-house or with a marketing agency. Graduates will be qualified to undertake a broader Marketing Assistant or Sales Executive role that will expose them to the whole marketing mix but will equally have developed the analytical skills needed to build an effective marketing strategy within a data-driven position, such as that of a Media Planning Manager.

Previous students who have graduated with a Marketing Degree at Effat University have also opted to specialize in a particular area of marketing. For example, a PR Executive role allows graduates to channel their creativity within a more media-based role. Other career opportunities for a Marketing graduate include Advertising Manager, Media Planning Executive or Strategic Planner. You'll also be able to continue with post-graduate studies in marketing and related fields
